My first short story
As a handful of you may know, the last four or five years I’ve been trying to learn how to write beyond and outside of poetry. It’s been really magical to reconnect with other modes of writing, especially taking up elements of narrative and storytelling — which were always the things that I found most enchanting about literature as a teenager (I didn’t really start reading poetry until I was 16 and not seriously until university).
I am so fucking excited to share with you my first ever short story. Here it is, in The London Magazine.
It’s a sordid and depressing little tale I wrote after swimming regularly in London Fields lido and imagining what kinds of people lurk in the pool. I hope you enjoy it
